It has been a great experience for the NA-J Council to work with AAMEP. Roz and Troy have become our friends and our guest speakers at our community meetings. Attendees are always surprised to learn facts about our educational system especially when it concerns black males. At our last community meeting in August of 2010, Roz and Troy were guest speakers and not only did they provide information on New Albany and Jeffersonville graduation, dropout rates, etc., but they answered questions from the audience and got many concerned citizens attention. We enjoy our partnership with AAMEP and look forward to working with them as we finalize dropout rate information to create our community report card and to continue setting strategies for our challenges NA-J is very impressed with AAMEP and we have encouraged other cities to call upon AAMEP to help them gather and understand data related to their dropout rates.
