As researchers, we are driven by the question, "What is it about certain settings that promotes high success among Black males in Indiana?" These are the settings in which in which Black males are highly regarded, fully included into the fold of what the school or program leaders deem essential to their institutional mission, and in which Black males demonstrate high performance.
Our research is action-oriented, consequently, we seek an understanding of these "best practices" while also disseminate our findings pervasively to ensure that there is an increase of these practices throughout the state. We advocate for change by promoting awareness, and co-authoring and testifying for policies and legislature that will enhance Black male success in schools.
